Basement Area of Residential/Commercial Development
In this particular project Drumlargan Construction remediated the Basement/Car Park area to achieve a Fire-Resistance Rating that complied with the Fire Safety Drawings. Some of the issue Drumlargan Construction remediated included:
• Specific Basement areas not compartmentalised correctly
• Non-Compliant Storage/bike rooms built by Estate Management
• Bin Store not ventilated
• Poor construction methods of previous fire prevention details
• Soffit Insulation degrading and poorly installed
• Non-compliant penetration details through podium slab.
Replace damaged insulation to underside of slab using concrete fixings and approved tape.
Collars installed on pipe work from basement to ground floor.
Gaps under storage room doors too large.
Inadequate/incorrect compartmentalisation in basement.
Construct new block wall to achieve 120cm minimum fire rated partition.
